My baby isn't a baby anymore.....

Saturday Kiersten went up to Erik and said to take her training wheels off. Erik did so very quickly. She's off. It's weird to have all my kids on bikes. Yes, she's not great yet. Yes, she's had some spills, but doing great. We did put her helmet on her too. Here are some pictures:

Some Doctors.....

So I am trying out a new dr. (endocrinologist), and am not sure about her and her office. I went in for all kinds of stuff (hormones, aches, thyroid, etc.) and kind of felt like they thought I was crazy. Now this makes me mad because I know my body and have lived with this crap forever. I'm not the healthiest fish in the sea, nor have I ever been. They didn't listen and blamed everything on the compounding hormones I was taking because they don't like them. Then she asked me about my weight. This is how our conversation went:

Dr.: "How's your weight been?"
Me: "Not so good. I've been trying but have had no success."
Dr.: "Well, do you DO anything?"
Me: "Yes, I ride bike, pilates, walk, etc. As much as I can with my foot, since I'm not cleared by my dr. to do much."
Dr." Well, try Southbeach or Weight Watchers."
Me: " I tried Southbeach under a dr.'s supervision and had NO success."
Dr.: "Well, try Weight Watchers then. And when you come back we'll talk about your eating habits."

At this point I felt like slapping her. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't sit around and eat bon bons all day. She was really pleasant let me tell you. This is what I decided. I will do their tests and things, see what they do with the results, and then either stick it out for a little while or switch to someone else. She is the only one on my insurance so if I see another one, I will have to pay. However, I have to have some of these issues resolved, and they aren't very pleasant people. I want to get a good repoire going with a dr. who believes me and doesn't think I'm crazy. We'll see what happens. I truly felt like pulling my hair out when I left their office.

Early Mother's Day....

So, today me and my mother went to the DeLeon Spa for pedicures. It was so much fun. We have never lived next to each other and been able to do these kinds of things before. I love my mother to death. She is amazingly patient, kind, and a great listener. She NEVER goes to get pedicures, massages, etc. so I think it is a fun treat for her. We had a great time together (with no kids). This was a nice mother's day treat for both of us. I truly have been blessed by the women in my life. Thanks everyone!

Easter.....

For the last 6 years or so we have gotten together with cousins and celebrated Easter. We have great memories of this time. We asked our kids if they wanted to go to St. George this year or be with cousins, and they said stay with cousins. Crazy, but I love that they love to be with cousins so much. We had a great time. We decorated eggs, decorated cookies, had an easter egg hunt, played games, had a sleep over, went to the park, and had a great dinner. We had fun, as you can see. Decorating eggs is always fun, but messy. I love that it is getting easier since the kids are getting older. When it was time for the easter egg hunt, thankfully, it stopped raining for a brief moment. So that was great. On easter morning, we did a scavenger hunt for the kids to find their baskets. My 6 year old was hilarious. She was so excited and new that the easter bunny had come because her basket was "missing". It was interesting that when Trevyn read the clues, Witnee actually was the one to get and figure out the clues. It really surprised us. It was really fun and added a new twist this year on finding their baskets. We also had a great time at the park before we went over to my brother's for dinner. I wanted to move my body a little before eating. I was feeling sluggish, so we walked to the park/rode bikes. The kids played golf, football, rode bikes, etc. It was actually pretty nice weather too. Then we had an awesome ham dinner (of course). It was a great easter together as a family.

Anniversary.....

Well, every so often Easter is also my anniversary and my birthday. Being it was Easter and wanted to be with the kids, we didn't do a whole lot for the anniversary and birthday side of things. BUT, I have to say I can't believe I've been married for 11 fabulous years. I have a wonderful, thoughtful, fun husband that I am so glad that I married. Wow, time flies. We've been blessed with three beautiful children and we are still best friends. I truly couldn't have married a better guy:)

What the......

Yesterday, was quite cold as most people know. My son had soccer SO I had him wear pants, sweatshirt, etc. so he didn't freeze to death. He was all bent out of shape because he had to wear pants not shorts. Why? Because he thought he looked "hideous". What the? Since when does it matter what you wear to soccer practice. I just laughed. When I picked him up from soccer, his cheeks were red, he was still wearing his little gloves, and had his hood on. I asked him who was right? Of course mom was right and he was grateful he had dressed appropriatley. Kids make me laugh:)

Funny talk.....

Everyone knows that kids say the darndest(is that really a word?) things. Well, I love quietly listening to the kids conversations with each other and friends. Yesterday, we had some friends in our car and this was the conversation between Witnee and one of her friends. We were driving and saw some college boys running without shirts on. So, Witnee thought this was weird and asked :
Wit: "Mom, why don't those boys have shirts on?"
friend: "Because they don't have to. We have to wear shirts because we have privates on our bellies."
Wit: "What? (with a confused look on her face) Oh, yeah, we DO have privates on our bellies!"
Isn't that funny? I love it--privates on our bellies. That a good way of putting it:)

Yeah, Spring is on the way....

I'm so glad spring is on it's way. Along with it comes so many fun things. I went up to Wolfcreek this weekend with my dear hubbie. We had a great relaxing, having adult conversation, and just being together. It was really fun and much needed. Now, it's back to reality. Along with Spring comes sports. As many know, my Trevyn LOVES sports. So, he's in basketball right now, then we will overlap a little as soccer starts in a week. Then, comes baseball. And last but not least, don't forget to sign me up for flag football and soccer in the fall (per my son). Crazy! He is such a sportaholic. Oh well. He is fun to watch and it is truly what he enjoys. Sometime in there I have to give my girls a chance to do what they want too. Another sign of spring is my flowers growing in the flowerbed. Yeah. I love flowers (hopefully they won't get picked by the girls). Here's to warm weather:)

From the Mouths of Babes.....

SO everyone pretty much knows that my 3rd child is quite the kick in the pants. She says, does, etc. whatever she wants whenever she wants (but truly she isn't a big brat). We were riding alone in the car the other day and our conversation went something like this:
Kiersten: "Mom, you're an old mom."
Me: "I'm an old mom? What are mom's suppose to be?"
Kiersten: " Young moms. You are old. You know, like you need a stick to walk with because your old."
Me: "You mean a cane to walk with?"
Kiersten: "Yep."

I told her it was a good thing I loved her because otherwise I would be getting a complex about myself. Gotta love her:) She keeps our house lively for sure.

Happy late Valentines.....

We had a great Valentines. I did the 14 days of Valentines for Erik. It was really fun because I have never done anything really fun for Valentines. I involved the kids and they enjoyed it. We wrote love letters, gave kisses, invite to a special date, special FHE with why we love our dad, special dessert, etc. I have been eating everything 100% whole wheat and my kids don't even care. They eat it all just fine, which is awesome! We made homemade wheat heart pizzas, had a heart cake, popcorn, balloons, and a special movie night with the kids on 2/13, and then me and Erik went out to dinner and a movie on 2/14. We went and saw the movie Taken. It was a GREAT movie. Very intense. Not a lovey dovey movie, but great none the less. We are going to go on a belated date on 3/7. We (me and erik) are going up to the Trendwest in Ogden for the weekend for a belated Valentines date. I am so looking forward to it. I hope everyone had a great Valentines. I think I started some new Valentines traditions now and am looking forward to it:)

Draper Temple...

We took the kids and went to the Draper Temple open house. That temple is amazing. It is gorgeous. My kids loved it and thankfully were very well behaved. There was a young men's group in front of us, and their leaders kept saying that they needed to take notes from my kids. They were out of control and touching everything. It was so annoying. Anyways, I asked my kids what they learned from the temple and what was their favorite part. This is what they said:

Trevyn--favorite part and what he learned was the celestial room because the brightness reminded him of rainbows and the light of Christ.

Witnee--favorite part was the baptismal font and she learned that when she is 12 she gets to go do baptisms for the dead.

Kiersten--favorite part was the chandelier in the celestial room and she learned that Jesus is our rock.

I was pretty impressed that they learned that. I can't really explain how pretty this temple is (of course they are all pretty). I can't wait to go back when it is open and see the grounds and do a session. It was a great family home evening and we were glad to explain to them that we are a forever family and the importance of that in the sealing room. It was a great night.

Late Night.....

Kids love "late nights" with friends. It cracks me up. They consume lots of popcorn/ice cream and watch a movie. So, my kids did this with some neighbors the other night and had a blast (as they always do). It's fun that the kids have such great friends.

Witnee skiing....

Witnee had her fun day skiing with Grandma Lela. The kids love to go snow skiing--so this is perfect.

Cub Scouts????

This is Trevyn passing off some of his cub scout requirements. One of them was cooking a meal, doing the dishes for it, etc. I personally love this one. Then I didn't have to cook--just supervise. He did a really good job and dinner tasted very good. Cub Scouts as a whole though? This is all knew to me and there is a lot to think about with cub scouts and faith in God. Oh well. That is part of growing up I guess.
